ANNUAL REVIEWS OF CONTINUING PROJECTS:

Even though a project may be funded for several years, IACUC approval must be renewed annually. Investigators are sent reminders three months before the approval anniversary month. If the project is to continue, the IACUC will require information on the number of animals used, progress towards your experimental goals, and your planned animal use in the coming 12 months.

Please submit the "Continuing Project Review Form" in ample time for review before the expiration of your approval. The IACUC office sends requests to the members in weekly batches, usually on Friday morning. Any request form received by the IACUC office after noon on Thursday will not be sent for Member Consideration until the following Friday.

Upon receipt of appropriate information and assurances, your approval may be extended for twelve months.

Note: Animal Use Approval Request Forms only describe up to three years of animal work. Each triennial PI's with continuing projects must submit an "Updated" Animal Use Approval Request Form for de novo review by the IACUC.
